Helvacıoğlu has composed original scores for over 20 feature-length documentaries, narrative films, and shorts. His compositions have been featured at internationally renowned film festivals including Cannes, Berlin, Rotterdam, Locarno, and Istanbul. Notably, the short film Boreas (directed by Belma Baş), which he scored, was nominated for the Palme d’Or at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival. His score for Seaburners (directed by Melisa Önel), which premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2014, was described by The Hollywood Reporter as an “outstanding soundwork.”
